The grant funds activities following the dYdX Chain Software Upgrade v9.0, approved through governance on 31 August 2025, which introduced a new capability: designated proposers, a governance-controlled subset of validators responsible for proposing blocks.
The grantees agree to perform the duties of a designated proposer, including the responsibility to propose blocks on the dYdX Chain, if approved and elected by the dYdX community through the governance process.
Objectives of activities:
- Reliability and Stability
Ensure the reliable and consistent proposal of blocks on the dYdX Chain, contributing to the continued health, stability, and optimal performance of the network. - Availability and Resiliency
Maintain a high level of operational availability and responsiveness, including proactive monitoring and mitigation of downtime risks, in order to support the resiliency of the dYdX Chain. - Security and Network Integrity
Implement and maintain appropriate security measures, including robust key management solutions, protection against denial-of-service attacks, and redundancy systems designed to safeguard the integrity of the dYdX Chain. - Collaboration and Coordination
Collaborate and coordinate effectively with other designated proposers and order entry gateway service (OEGS) nodes, including the maintenance of efficient, low-latency connections and, where appropriate, the optimization of node placement to enhance network efficiency. - Communication
Maintain clear, timely, and effective communication with the dYdX community and other relevant stakeholders, including acknowledging and responding promptly to emergency alerts and engaging in regular communications as reasonably required. - Service Level Commitments
Perform all activities in accordance with the service level requirements mutually agreed upon (as defined in the ‘SLAs’ section below), upholding the highest standards of reliability, security, and operational integrity of the dYdX Chain.
